Child Sponsorship
This page is in need of re-writing. You can sponsor a child (or multiple children) directly with the Project office in Addis Ababa. For more details on the arrangements, simply email the office here. Alternatively, UK-based individual supporters may find it simpler and more convenient to join our sponsorship scheme - details of which are below.
About the Project
The Community Based Integrated Sustainable Development Organisation (CBISDO for short) is a slum-redevelopment project based in Addis Ababa, the capital of Ethiopia. Work in the area began in 1989, overseen by the Integrated Holistic Approach Urban Development Project - or IHA-UDP. Over the years, the district has been transformed by adopting a holistic approach through projects providing housing, sanitation, healthcare, care for the elderly and so on. One of the prime tasks was to improve the education system from the Kindergarten through to the High School.
Details of the Scheme
The Project scheme is very well run and
is administered by a Trust who run the scheme in accordance with a
Trust Deed (a very lengthy and thorough document).
Now to the admin details - if you would
like to sponsor a child, please complete the response form overleaf
and return it to Paul Wilson at the address shown.
Why sponsor a child?

The situation of so many children unable to go to school contributed to many of the social problems in the area such as child labour, prostitution and so on.
There are three payment methods to
choose from:
