Primary Health Care

This component of the Project's work includes all kinds of programmes which support the health and well-being of members of the community.

As shown above, these different healthcare-related programmes are far more effective when operated together than independently. Caring for people's basic healthcare needs is an important part of the Project's strategy to care for the whole person.

A list of programmes within this component includes:

1. Safe &Clean Water

2. Environmental Health

a) Communal Latrines
b) Clothes Washing & Shower Facilities
c) Dry Waste Disposal
d) Human Waste Disposal

3. Vaccination – Children under 5 years, and pregnant mothers

4. Nutrition & Day Care for under 5 children:
Eg, weaning food, and gardening (to grow vegetables)

5. Mother and child health (MCH)

6. First Aid

7. Health Education

8. Communicable disease control

a) HIV/AIDS
b) Trachoma
c) VD & Leprosy
d) Check-ups
e) Anti- Rabies
