Organisational structure
and legal status of the
Project
The work of the Project is now managed through various self-governing
organisations, all supported under the banner of IHAUDP. These
include the community-based organisations (CBOs) which continue to run
the work in each of the two areas where IHAUDP has phased out from the
development stage of work. In the first of these areas, the CBO
is called the 'Community Based Integrated Sustainable Development
Organisation', or CBISDO. In the second area, the CBO is called
'Addis Hiwot Integrated Sustainability Development Organization', or
AHISDO. 'Addis Hiwot' means 'New Life' in Amharic.
Organisational Structure
-
Both CBISDO and AHISDO as well as
IHA-UDP have their own General Assembly.
-
They each have a Board, detailed in
their Constitution.
-
Since 2005, the IHA-UDP Extension
Project, CBISDO, AHISDO and the Institute for Urban Workers (IUW) are
coordinated by the Coordinating Office of IHA-UDP.
Other support groups include:
a) Advisory Committee (for the future IHA-UDP Community-Based
Organization)
b) Technical Committee
c) Elders' Committee
d) Sponsorship Trust
Legal Status
-
CBISDO and AHISDO are both registered as
a CBOs (Community-Based Organizations) with Addis Ababa City
administration and now with the Ministry of Justice.
