This section of the website provides a brief guide to the work of the Project, its methodologies, philosophy and background.

How the Project Works

The name of the project describes the philosophy and methodology: it uses an integrated approach to address problems, rather than tackle issues in isolation; and it takes a holistic view of people's circumstances, rather than focusing solely on (say) health issues or material needs.

Similarly, the project's logo illustrates the way that it works.  The slogan is 'a triangle to break the circle of the lowest living standard'.  The three points of the triangle represent the three components of the work:

To see some examples of the programmes carried out under each of the components, click the corresponding section on the logo opposite.

The three components together identify the basic requirements of human need, including health, housing, education and employment. 52 Programmes operate in total, run by 250 community programme workers, with some professional experts from outside.
