IHA-UDP's Unique Strength

Sharing Together

The staff contributes for lunch on a monthly basis, assigns rota for food monitoring and use the mealtimes as a breathing space, a get together, fun and laughter time. It is also an opportunity for reconciliation when the going gets tough!

Sharing together as IHA-UDP 'vision' to promote social ministry and advocacy for poverty alleviation and social justice work is based on spiritual as well as humanitarian values.

The Team Approach to Conflict Resolution

The pr  Practice of thoroughly discussing matters before reaching a decision extends also to the resolution of conflict among the staff. No matter how long it takes the staff sit and discuss until agreement or reconciliation is attained.

The staff, being stakeholders, participate fully in preparing the guidelines or handbook. The staff is given support in sharing happy and sad occasions. The practice of 'group therapy' in conflict resolution is another part of its culture of interactive discussions until consensus is reached.

Professionalism and Accountability

The spirit of professionalism is maintained at all times. This does not, however, mean lack of the human touch. Personal biases are set aside to ensure responsibility towards the community and accountability and credibility for one's work. Transparency is the 'sine qua non' of IHA-UDP.
